{"id":517,"date":"2025-12-16T01:40:56","date_gmt":"2025-12-16T01:40:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/?p=517"},"modified":"2025-12-16T01:40:56","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T01:40:56","slug":"spicy-cardamon-crisps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/index.php\/2025\/12\/16\/spicy-cardamon-crisps\/","title":{"rendered":"Spicy Cardamon Crisps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 1\/3 cup sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup unsalted butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp molasses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tbsp water<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 cups all-purpose flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1.5 tsp baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tsp ground cardamom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 ground cinnamon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sliced almonds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Combine sugar and butter in large bowl.  Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy.  Add egg, molasses, water and vanilla, beat until well mixed.  Reduce speed to low; add all remaining ingredients <strong>except<\/strong> almonds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Divide dough into thirds. Shape each third into a 1\/2-inch thick square. Wrap each square in plastic wrap. Refirgerate until firm (1-2 hours).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Roll out dough, 1\/3 at a time, on a lightly floured surface to a 12&#215;10 inch rectangle.  Cut into 2-inch squares using a pastry knife or pizza cutter; cut squares diagonally in half to form triangles.  Place 1-inch apart on baking sheets. Lightly press almond slices into center of each cookie.
