{"id":495,"date":"2025-12-15T23:50:03","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:50:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/?p=495"},"modified":"2025-12-15T23:50:03","modified_gmt":"2025-12-15T23:50:03","slug":"ginger-cutout-cookies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/index.php\/2025\/12\/15\/ginger-cutout-cookies\/","title":{"rendered":"Ginger Cutout Cookies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1.25 cups sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup butter, softened<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 egg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 tbsp molasses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp vanilla<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 cups all purpose flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1.5 tsp baking soda<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tsp ground cinnamon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 tsp ground ginger<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/4 tsp salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/4 tsp ground cloves<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Powdered sugar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Combine sugar and butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl, until creamy.  Add egg, molasses and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed.  Reduce speed to low; add all remaining ingredients <strong>except<\/strong> powder sugar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Divide dough into thirds. Shape each third into round balls, flatten to 1\/2 inch thickness and wrap each disk in plastic wrap.  Refrigerate until firm (1 to 2 hours).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Heat oven to 375 degrees.  Roll out dough on lightly floured surface, one third at a time, to 1\/8-inch thickness. Cut with 2 to 3-inch cookie cutter.  Place 1-inch apart onto untreated onto cookie sheets.  Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until set.  Let stand for one minute; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely.
