{"id":393,"date":"2021-06-25T01:33:07","date_gmt":"2021-06-25T01:33:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/?p=393"},"modified":"2023-08-05T20:01:08","modified_gmt":"2023-08-05T20:01:08","slug":"refried-beans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/index.php\/2021\/06\/25\/refried-beans\/","title":{"rendered":"Refried Beans"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Ingredients: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"recipe-ingredients__list wp-block-list\"><li>1\/2 cup chicken broth<\/li><li>2(15 1\/2 ounce) cans  black beans, drained and rinsed <\/li><li>1 tablespoon vegetable oil<\/li><li>1 small  onion chopped fine (about 3\/4 cup)<\/li><li>1   Jalape\u00f1o , seeds and ribs removed, chile minced <\/li><li>1  poblano, seeds and ribs removed, chile chopped fine (about 1\/4 cup)<\/li><li>1\/4 salt <\/li><li>3 garlic cloves minced<\/li><li>1\/2 tsp cumin <\/li><li>1 tbsp chopped cilantro leaves<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Directions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"recipe-directions__steps wp-block-list\"><li>Process broth and all but 1 cup of beans in food processor until smooth, about 15 seconds, scraping sides of bowl with rubber spatula if necessary. Add remaining beans and process until slightly chunky, about ten 1-second pulses. <\/li><li>Heat oil in 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium heat until shimmering.<\/li><li>Increase heat to medium-high; add onion, chiles, and salt and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened and beginning to brown, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cumin; cook, stirring frequently, until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add beans and stir until thoroughly combined. Reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring occasionally, until beans are thick and creamy, about 5 minutes.
