{"id":247,"date":"2009-03-14T17:04:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-14T17:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/?p=247"},"modified":"2023-11-05T11:20:13","modified_gmt":"2023-11-05T11:20:13","slug":"pumpkin-scones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooleysekula.net\/cooking\/index.php\/2009\/03\/14\/pumpkin-scones\/","title":{"rendered":"Pumpkin Scones"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2-1\/4 C all-purpose flour<br \/>1\/4 C packed brown sugar<br \/>2 tsp baking powder<br \/>1\/4 tsp baking soda<br \/>2 tsp pumkin pie spice <br \/>1\/4 tsp salt<br \/>1\/2 C frozen butter<br \/>1 egg, beaten<br \/>1\/2 C canned pumpkin<br \/>1\/3 C milk<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preheat oven to 400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Combine the first 6 ingrediants (flour &#8211; salt) together<br \/>in mixing bowl. Shred 1\/2 cup butter with a box grater and toss with dry mixture . Make a well in center of mixture. Set aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. In a separate bowl combine egg, pumpkin and milk.<br \/>Add egg mixture to dry mixture. Using a fork, stir until<br \/>moistened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Turn out dough onto a lightly floured surface. Quickly knead<br \/>dough by folding and pressing gently for 10 to 12 strokes or until<br \/>nearly smooth. Pat dough into an 8 inch circle. Cut into 12 wedges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Place wedges 1 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet.<br \/>Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden. Remove scones from<br \/>baking sheet and cool on wire rack for 5 minutes.
